Ron Butel is a Director of Interface Employment Assistance Program and has in excess of 30 years experience in alcohol and substance misuse counseling and management of inter-disciplinary counseling teams.

He has held senior management posts in Queensland Corrections, established the Court Advisory Service and contributed to legislative and policy development.

Ron is an accredited trainer and as Corrections Manager of the Queensland Drug Court, developed and coordinated the first inter-departmental training program for Drug Court operatives including magistrates, police, lawyers and professionals from the Departments of Health and Corrections.

Ron has written educational course packages and lectured at tertiary level, presented the key note address to the Winter School in the Sun and addressed the Queensland Magistrates bi-annual State conference.

He has a long term commitment to breaking the substance misuse cycle.
